Duo da Chiesa
In 2007, Louisa Gard (www.louisagard.com & www.musicalconnections.org.uk) and Philip Sawyer founded Duo da Chiesa in order to play the small but attractive repertoire for flute and organ. Their first major appearances were in Amsterdam in May 2008 and Edinburgh, during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, in August 2008 (see the Recital Programmes pages of this web-site).
2009 included a new work commissioned from the Edinburgh-based Japanese composer Shiori Usui; this received its first performances in the church St Michael and All Saints, Edinburgh, during the 2009 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
